It may come as a surprise that i am actually a marathon finisher... I ran 42.128km on 5th dec 2010. It was a really tough run, with many cramps and the never ending road. When i recall about it one year later, i realized that it is not the medal or the finisher tees that is most precious to me but actually is the lesson learnt.
So why is clearing your debt akin to running a marathon? Just like how a marathon is long and painful run, clearing debt will also take lots of time and very painful to be cleared. But there is one very important thing i learnt from the marathon is that YOU NEVER GIVE UP! Bits by bits, kilometer by kilometer, i eventually finished the marathon
Sure enough, i did have thought of giving up too, I get lots of cramp. I just want to take a cab home straight and fuck care the marathon. But i never gave up and even tho people around me are running or jogging, I am walking because of the sheer tiredness. If I have to walk, I walk so long i never give up and finish the marathon.
The same thing applies to clearing your debt. You will get cramp along the way, people will despise you, look down on you and laugh at your debt, so be it. There will be times you want to take cab and fuck care everything but you must always tell yourself you have to hang on there and never give up. There will be times whereby people around you being debt-free and financially healthy while you are being so in-debt. It is alright, just tell yourself never to give up and bit by bits, you will eventually pay back your debt.
I hope this post had motivated you all to never give up in clearing your debt.
